Buffalo;1 Tourist: 0

"A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital after she was gored by a buffalo at a remote Northern Territory resort.
The attack came as the Northern Territory News reported many potential domestic tourists were choosing other holiday destinations ahead of the NT because of the Territory's wild, outback image."

What a bunch of suburban wimps. I guess they'd prefer nice tidy organised golf courses and Starbucks and shopping malls.
The Territory has it's own character and the longer the developers and the whole destructive tourism bullshit industry can be kept at bay, the better.
Ever notice how once the developers and assorted greedheads move in, the very things that made a place attractive in the first place are mostly lost forever? They name a new development "Whispering Pines" or "Silverstream" after the pines they've chopped down or the stream they've diverted. We hear all the usual crap about how many jobs tourism creates, but mostly they're low-paid jobs as waiters and maids etc. Somehow the way locals are rated and priced out of their own neighbourhoods never gets a mention.
These clowns could be staying in a Hilton hotel anywhere in the world and barely able to tell the difference. If they can't visit the Territory to enjoy all the ways in which it's unique, without whining about the dangers (which are largely imaginary or overblown anyway) perhaps they'd be better off going to some pre-fucked "paradise" such as Port Douglas.
There should be a "tourist season" all right.....open season.

I'm on the buff's side.
