Muslim Hate Speech OK (Again)

We read:

"The editor of an Arabic daily newspaper published in London said in an interview on Lebanese television that he would dance in Trafalgar Square if Iranian missiles hit Israel.

Talking about Iran's nuclear capability on ANB Lebanese television on June 27, Abd Al-Bari Atwan, editor-in-chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, said, "If the Iranian missiles strike Israel, by Allah, I will go to Trafalgar Square and dance with delight."

Bari Atwan founded the pan-Arab daily in London in 1989, and today the paper has a circulation of around 50,000. He is also a regular commentator on Sky News and BBC News 24.

A BBC spokesman told The Jerusalem Post that editors make decisions based on the following BBC guidelines.

"We should not automatically assume that academics and journalists from other organizations are impartial and make it clear to our audience when contributors are associated with a particular viewpoint."

"The BBC is required to explore a range of views, so that no significant strand of thought is knowingly unreflected or underrepresented."

"The BBC will sometimes need to report on or interview people whose views may cause serious offense to many in our audiences. We must be convinced, after appropriate referral, that a clear public interest outweighs the possible offense."

The BBC and the rest of the Left are ALWAYS ready to excuse Muslim hate speech on free speech grounds. Just say something adverse about homosexuals (for instance) though and see what happens.

Note this, "The BBC is required to explore a range of views, so that no significant strand of thought is knowingly unreflected or underrepresented" and ask when the BBC has aired a program condemning homosexuality as psychopathological? Yet only a few decades ago homosexuality was listed as a pathology in psychiatry handbooks such as DSM II.

An Iconic Act of Hypocrisy

The IR laws, that the lefties are pulling their hair out over, don't even apply to Nurses, but don't let that sort of technicality get in the way of a good old John Howard smear. Kevin Rudd and the Unions are always telling us how much they care about the workers. Listen to Kevin Rudd or one of the Unions and sooner or later, you'll hear the phrase 'working families', I've become convinced that when lefties weasel themselves into the corner of any group of people, chances are that group of people will get screwed. Unions and their Labor lackeys are always banging on about how you'll get fired for the flimsiest excuse; well have a look at how they treat their own members.
A POWERFUL nurses union has been called "total hypocrites" after one of its members was dumped from an anti-WorkChoices ad - because her child was sick. Sydney mother Maree Fletcher, who works in an aged care facility, said she feels totally let down by the NSW Nurses Association and is seeking a promised $1400 appearance fee. The single mother and her five-year-old daughter Jade-Claire were chosen to appear in a TV campaign urging voters to reject John Howard's workplace reforms. But on the day of filming - August 22 - Jade-Claire woke with chicken pox. The production crew, who had already assembled in Ms Fletcher's home, decided to defer the shoot.

Later that day, however, Ms Fletcher was told she was no longer needed. She now feels badly let down and says her workmates believe her plight undermines the union's campaign against the Government's reforms. Workplace Relations Minister Joe Hockey called it an "iconic act of hypocrisy" by the union. "It says everything about the union bosses. You have to look at what they do, not what they say," Mr Hockey said. "How ironic it is that on the day they launch a national campaign against laws that don't apply to them, these revelations about the treatment of one of their own is made known. "Will Kevin Rudd be rushing out to defend this nurse?" Source.
Incidentally Maree Fletcher is not the only acceptable casualty in Labor's war against John Howard, remember Joann Doolan and Kelly Hoare. Yeah, come on Mr. Rudd, show us how you've got the Unions under your thumb, or will Maree Fletcher just have to take one for the team? The hate-Howard train is gathering steam folks, get out of the way, it's on, nothing and no one will get in the way of this train, battler or not.

Virginia Tech - Second Report

Here's the first report, don't ask me what the difference between the two is. So after four months of navel gazing, meetings, hand-holding, singing kumbaya, pie graphs and flow charts, this is pretty much all they got.
"Warning the students, faculty and staff might have made a difference. However, the report concluded that while alerts might have helped students and faculty to protect themselves or alert authorities of suspicious activity, a lockdown of the 131 buildings on campus was not feasible. Gunman Seung-Hui Cho was also an insider, a student with an ID card to access campus buildings and the ability to get the same messages as everyone else. He could have gained access to a dormitory or begun shooting people in the open, the report said. The governor's panel sharply critiqued the university's counseling center, where Cho was referred for treatment in 2005 after a stretch of bizarre behavior and concerns that he was suicidal. The panel concluded that the counseling center failed to provide needed support and services to Cho, due to a lack of resources, misinterpretation of privacy laws and passivity. The report said the university's emergency response plan was deficient in several respects... It also did not include a threat assessment team. Source.
In summary, all that's needed is more couches and some sort of "emergency grab ankles and find a desk to hide under" plan. After four months all these brainiacs could come up with is that a fellow who murdered 32 people was just looking for a couch, a hug, someone to tell him he was special and a 1800-i'm-feelin-homicidal number. They just cannot fathom that there are people out there who just like to kill people, like some of us like to cook or drive or play golf. They just like to watch you die, to put a bullet in your head or to drag a knife across your throat and the response is not hugs and kisses.

What's worse is that no one with half a brain believes this BS and I'll show you why. Go and flood Virginia Tech with counselors, get a hundred emergency plans and threat assessment teams, throw in couches and suicide hotlines until everyone is sick to the back teeth of being mothered. Then you call their reception one fine morning and tell em' you're coming with an AK-47, extra mags and all that and you're going to send them all to hell, sit back and watch them scatter like rats. The counselors and social workers will be the first to flee.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh on them, after all 32 people are dead and many injured and scarred, someone will have to do a report and we can hardly expect them to report that there is little the authorities can do. We can hardly expect them to come back and say, sorry folks, all we can say is, we cannot protect you, go and get yourself a gun, learn to use it, watch your back, grow a pair, make a stand, learn to draw fast, be prepared to fight for your freedom, it's hard but that's life.

The current guidance is that those wonderful folates also protect against bowel cancer. So other food chemicals with a similar action to folate should be protective too -- right? Wrong! The study of choline below associated it with with INCREASED bowel polyps.

And choline is mainly found in red meat, eggs, dairy products etc. So should we all become vegetarians?

There are heaps of things that could be said about this but the reaction of the medical researchers and commentators is sure amusing. The authors themselves draw the sort of conclusion that should be drawn in EVERY epidemiological study. They conclude that the effect they found "could represent effects of other components in the foods from which choline was derived". Correlation is not causation, in other words.

The editors of the journal also showed unusual humility: "Clearly, one-carbon metabolism and its role in [cancer development] is more complicated than originally anticipated, and our understanding of the underlying mechanisms is probably incomplete. More research, and caution in developing public health policy and guidance, is warranted"

More "caution in developing public health policy" from epidemiological findings? Long overdue. There should be more of it.

Another VERY interesting comment from them: "Other reasonable hypotheses about one-carbon metabolism and colorectal carcinogenesis, based on our current understanding of the biochemistry and underlying mechanisms, have also not been proven correct. In a recently published placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial among 1021 men and women with a recent history of colorectal adenoma, supplemental folic acid at 1 mg/d for up to 6 years did not reduce the incidence of subsequent colorectal adenomas and might have increased it.

WHOA! That folate that everybody gets compulsorily added to their bread did no good and seems to have done harm?? And do we see a double blind controlled study contradicting epidemiological inferences?? Who would have believed it!

They go on to admit that two animal studies have shown that folate INCREASES cancer. Aren't you glad that your government is dosing you up with the stuff and giving you no say in the matter?

OK. I will not gloat any further. I am reluctant to let the wiseheads off the hook but I don't actually think that the particular study below tells us anything much at all. Its main value has been to squeeze out from the know-alls the long overdue admissions and cautions about folate noted above. It's certainly a pity that such admissions are so infrequent, however.

What they all seem to be overlooking is that the study is about REPORTED food intake. And we know how fraught that can be. The nurses who were surveyed would all be acutely aware that eating lots of meat, dairy and eggs is NAUGHTY, according to the current wisdom. So many would have understated what they ate in that department. So what the study really shows is that REBELLIOUS or especially honest people get more polyps. It probably had nothing to do with their choline intake at all.

So where do we go from there? Who is it who would disregard official dietary advice and eat what they like? Easy: Working class people. Nurses come from all social backgrounds and there would be plenty who would happily wrap themselves around a Big Mac with no guilt at all. And, as we repeatedly find, the workers have more health problems generally for all sorts of reasons, including not only such things as a riskier lifestyle but genetic differences as well. So all we have at the end of this study is another demonstration of that old truth: The workers have poorer health in all sorts of ways.

But the addition of folate to our bread is more and more looking like an iatrogenic disaster to come. I think I should note that I have previously reported that the addition of folate to bread seems to have caused an upsurge in bowel cancer.

Dietary Choline and Betaine and the Risk of Distal Colorectal Adenoma in Women

By Eunyoung Cho et al.

Background: Choline and betaine are involved in methyl-group metabolism as methyl-group donors; thus, like folate, another methyl-group donor, they may be associated with a reduced risk of colorectal adenomas. No epidemiologic study has examined the association of intake of these nutrients and colorectal adenoma risk.

Methods: We investigated the relationship between intakes of choline and betaine and risk of colorectal adenoma in US women enrolled in the Nurses' Health Study. Dietary intake was measured by food-frequency questionnaires, and individual intakes of choline and betaine were calculated by multiplying the frequency of consumption of each food item by its choline and betaine content and summing the nutrient contributions of all foods. Logistic regression models were used to calculate adjusted odds ratios (as approximations for relative risks) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of colorectal adenoma. All statistical tests were two-sided.

Results: Among 39246 women who were initially free of cancer or polyps and who had at least one endoscopy from 1984 through 2002, 2408 adenoma cases were documented. Increasing choline intake was associated with an elevated risk of colorectal adenoma; the multivariable relative risks (95% CIs) for increasing quintiles of intake, relative to the lowest quintile, were 1.03 (0.90 to 1.18), 1.01 (0.88 to 1.16), 1.23 (1.07 to 1.41), and 1.45 (1.27 to 1.67; Ptrend less than .001). Betaine intake had a nonlinear inverse association with colorectal adenoma; the multivariable relative risks (95% CIs) for increasing quintiles of intake were 0.94 (0.83 to 1.07), 0.85 (0.75 to 0.97), 0.86 (0.75 to 0.98), and 0.90 (95% CI = 0.78 to 1.04; Ptrend = .09). Among individual sources of choline, choline from phosphatidylcholine and from sphingomyelin were each positively related to adenoma risk.

Conclusions: Our findings do not support an inverse association between choline intake and risk of colorectal adenoma. The positive association between choline intake and colorectal adenoma that we observed could represent effects of other components in the foods from which choline was derived and should be investigated further.

Powers of Persuasion

Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has ordered a six-month suspension of activities by his Mahdi Army militia in order to reorganize the force, and it will no longer attack U.S. and coalition troops, aides said Wednesday. The aide, Sheik Hazim al-Araji, said on Iraqi state television that the goal was to "rehabilitate" the organization, which has reportedly broken into factions, some of which the U.S. maintains are trained and supplied by Iran. Maybe they parked one of these bad-boys outside his gate to help him decide.

And the dumbest excuse of the year goes to...

Australian rugby league great Andrew Johns says the ecstasy tablet he was caught with in London was pushed into a pocket of his jeans at a crowded club by an "unknown" person. "Johns said today he recalled an unknown person pushing a tablet into his jeans at a crowded entertainment venue last Sunday - his last day in the United Kingdom following a six weeks overseas holiday." Source.

MK - Come on, this fellow has to be a moron and a lying sack of crap. A moron because he obviously thinks we'll buy that story and/or he is dumb enough to believe that an organic vitamin salesman was walking around groping folks and leaving samples. A lying sack of crap because it's a bald faced lie, think about it, if some "stranger" walked up to you and put his hand into your pocket, apart from putting your elbow into his face, the first thing you'd think of is, the wallet, and if that's safe, what the hell did he put in there?

Ohio Democrats PROTECT racial segregation

A return to Jim Crow? It appears that OPPOSING racial segregation is a grave sin in the Democratic party. I guess they would kick Martin Luther King out.

"Like a Communist apparatchik who fell out of favor, Megan Pappada has seen her employment with the Ohio Democratic Party (ODP) quietly erased. The ODP blog post and podcast announcing her hire as Director of Women's Outreach has vanished as quickly as a Soviet political prisoner disappeared forever into the KGB abyss.

Megan Pappada was hired a few weeks ago by the ODP, then she was promptly fired later that same day. According to the ODP overlords, she had committed a grave political thought crime years ago when she was a college freshman: opposing racially segregated on-campus housing. You read that correctly - opposing racial segregation. And she had the audacity to infect others with such thoughts by having them published as a letter to the editor in the Ohio State University student newspaper, The Lantern - several years earlier in 2000. For that thought crime and making her thoughts public, she lost her job and was forced to renounce her past views.

BIG Whoops! Hottest Years Were in 1930s

Was 1998 the hottest year in United States history, as most reporting on climate change has presumed? Or was that record set back in 1934 before "global warming" became a scary household phrase? A corrective tweak to National Aeronautics and Space Administration's formulation shows that the hottest year on record in the United States indeed was back during the Dust Bowl days. But does this mean that all the concern about global warming being a relatively recent phenomenon tied to carbon-belching power plants and hulking SUVs is a bunch of Al Gore hooey? Source.

You decide.

Wonder if Obama has his excuses lined up now.

President Pervez Musharraf had agreed to resign from his position as army chief in a power-sharing deal with former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, the exiled former leader said in an interview published today. Speaking from London, where she lives, Ms Bhutto told The Daily Telegraph that while the deal was not yet complete, the "uniform issue is resolved". "The uniform issue is key and there has been a lot of movement on it in the recent round of talks." In a separate interview with the Financial Times also published today, fellow exiled former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said that he planned to return to Pakistan within a fortnight to lead a campaign to oust General Musharraf. Source.

MK - A lot of questions are popping into my head over this, will the extremists get a slice of the action from now on, what will the next leaders policy be on the Taliban weaseling around in Pakistan. Their attitude to America and the war on terror. I'm sure the Indians are chattering away about this too, nukes in the wrong hands and all that.

Strange "poverty"

The Census Bureau will release its annual report on poverty in America tomorrow. The report will show, as it has in recent years that around 37 million people live in official poverty. Presidential candidate John Edwards, who hopes to lead the nation in a new crusade against poverty, will, no doubt, seek to reap much publicity from the report.

In the past, Edwards has claimed that poverty in America is a "plague" which forces 37 million Americans to live in "terrible" circumstances. According to Edwards, an amazing "one in eight" Americans lack "enough money for the food, shelter, and clothing they need," caught in a daily "struggle with incredible poverty." However, examination of the living standards of the 37 million or so persons, the government defines as "poor," reveals that America's poverty "plague" may not be as "terrible" or "incredible" as anti-poverty crusader Edwards contends.

If being "poor" means (as Edwards claims it does) a lack of nutritious food, adequate warm housing, and clothing for a family, then very few of America's 37 million official "poor" people can be regarded as actually poor. Some material hardship does exist in the United States, but, in reality, it is quite restricted in scope and severity. The following are facts about persons defined as "poor" by the Census Bureau, taken from a variety of government reports:

46 percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.

80 percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.

Only six percent of poor households are overcrowded; two thirds have more than two rooms per person. The typical poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)

Nearly three quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars. 97 percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions....

As a group, America's poor are far from being chronically undernourished. The average consumption of protein, vitamins, and minerals is virtually the same for poor and middle-class children and, in most cases, is well above recommended norms. Poor children actually consume more meat than do higher-income children and have average protein intakes 100-percent above recommended levels. Most poor children today are, in fact, super-nourished and grow up to be, on average, one inch taller and ten pounds heavier than the GIs who stormed the beaches of Normandy in World War II......

LABOR has conceded that some workers want greater flexibility through an individual agreement and simplified the safety net for its proposed system of common law contracts. Australian Workplace Agreements will be phased out over five years with last possible expiry date of December 2012 and a limited contract with strict conditions will still operate for the next two years. The AWA phase out will be over five years with last possible expiry date of December 2012. The announcement today confirms that existing Australian Workplace Agreements will continue their full term but that Labor wants them to end. Source.

MK - There they were, the Unions and their Labor lackeys carping on about "tearing up" the IR laws. Some of the rabid leftwing lunatics were foaming at the mouth just thinking about it. They would all gather in some stadium somewhere, all the IR legislation would be brought out, Kevin Rudd would pour petrol all over it and Julia Gillard would arrive on the shoulders of union heavies to light the match and send that 'hated' Howards laws up in flames. There would be carbon offsets to placate the stupid Greens off course. Good grief, 5 years you leftie losers, read it an weep, 5 long years.

If it's any consolation to us Conservatives, if Kevin Rudd wins office, he'll be tossed out in 3 years, you know why? I'll tell you, when all the poor fools who voted for him in 2007 realise that he's not going to reduce rents, increase the price of the house you own and also lower the price of the house you want to buy at the same time, when they realise interest rates won't go down and unemployment will only go up, along with taxes and when they realise carbon neutral is expensive and Kevin Rudd isn't going to take over healthcare or reduce the waiting lists and boat people start returning to this 'racist and xenophobic' Australia, they'd be mad to give him another 3 years.

"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries"
David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, in an address to a meeting of The Trilateral Commission, in June, 1991
The Trilateral Commission is international and is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power – political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical."

Does anything else explain why Western countries seem to be marching almost in step towards the disempowerment of the citizens and the destruction of their national identities and societies?

Insult to a hero: Horrifically-injured soldier gets a mere £150,000 in compensation

Ben Parkinson volunteered to serve his country on the Afghan front line - and paid a terrible price.

The young paratrooper suffered a total of 37 terrible injuries when he was blown up by a landmine.

He lost both his legs and sustained grievous damage to his spine, skull, pelvis, hands, spleen and ribcage, leaving him in a coma for months.

Incredibly, 23-year-old Ben is still alive almost a year later - according to his doctors the most badly-injured soldier ever to survive.

All his mother wants is to buy a bungalow (house) so she can care for him there.

Yet as recompense for his ruined life, Ben has been offered only £152,150 - little more than half the maximum award for maimed military personnel and less than a third of the £484,000 doled out to an RAF typist who claimed she had suffered repetitive strain injury to her thumb.
After all, everybody knows that a typist sitting on her ass in a comfortable office is a far more important part of the military than a mere soldier.

Hit the road scum...

MK - Remember back in the beginning of August I posted about a creep called Jack McClellan who was arrested for putting up pictures of little girls on a blog of his. Keep reading, it's music to my ears I tell you, calls for a small celbration. So long you piece of filth, Orwellian protocol ey, oh so sad, what a shame, hit the road scum...

Self-described pedophile Jack McClellan said he is leaving California after a judge ordered him to stay away permanently from places where children gather, it was reported Sunday. "I have to leave the state, really, I can't live here under this Orwellian protocol," he told KABC-TV. "It's nightmarish." McClellan has been unemployed and living out of his car since arriving in Southern California this summer from Washington. Source.

One episode in the defeat of American Fascism

That the American Left in the first half of the 20th century were essentially Fascists is extensively documented here. Roosevelt even referred to Mussolini as "That admirable Italian gentleman" and he tried hard to emulate Musso's "corporate state". Only the Supreme Court defeated him -- as we see below.

Do free-marketeers need their own judicial pantheon? In a recent forum at the Council on Foreign Relations, Amity Shlaes, author of The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, argued that conservatives and libertarians ought to induct Schechter Poultry Corp. v. United States into such a pantheon.

In a nutshell, Schechter is the case that saved us from a centrally planned economy. Although, Roosevelt ultimately bullied the Court into abandoning Lochner, after Schechter the New Dealers were chastened, and they never again tried anything as massive and intrusive as the NRA. Indeed, I think that you could plausibly argue that since 1935 no one in the United States has dared try anything on the scale of the NRA. Had it stood, we would have been saddled with an economy where every major sector was regulated by detailed codes that not only dealt with issues of safety or working conditions, but also things like prices, permissible production levels, the scope of consumer choice (the New Dealers thought it was bad), and the terms of agreements between government regulated cartels. Gauche as Red-baiting is in New Deal history, there is no denying that many of the New Dealers were enamored of totalitirian economic planning, and, while the NRA never came close to the state-owned monstrosities of Stalin, it would have created an economic world in the United States closer to Fascist Italy than the modern welfare state. It was ultimately less of an exercise in economic redistribution than of political domination and control of economic life.

As a myth rather than a historical or legal theory, Schechter has much to commend it. A small, religious, family business built by immigrants searching for the American dream of advancement and self-improvement gets shut down by arrogant government bureaucrats hell-bent on imposing economic idiocy on the nation. They push back, and David-like force the government Goliath to its knees. The chicken triumphs over the eagle.

Expert to take over running 750 Aussie public hospitals

"A WOMAN stood unobtrusively (and fully clothed) by Kevin Rudd as he announced Labor's plan to take control of all 750 Australian public hospitals. She was Nicola Roxon, the shadow minister for health upon whom would fall responsibility for running this gigantic enterprise should Labor win the election.
Is Roxon up to it? Let's check her website: "Nicola is an honours law graduate who worked as an industrial lawyer, union organiser and judge's associate to Justice Mary Gaudron in the High Court of Australia prior to her election to Parliament.''
well, that'll do it all right--just what the public hospital system needs, another bloody lawyer/union organiser.
If Aussies vote Howard out and this lot in, we're collectively insane.

Why do we tolerate these losers!!

A GIANT banner saying "Cage Bush. Not Sydney" could be slung from the top of Town Hall, under a proposal to be voted on by the City of Sydney tonight. The Deputy Lord Mayor, Chris Harris, from the Greens, has called on councillors to support his motion calling for such a banner, to take a stand against crackdowns on protest at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum next month. "As a city councillor, I am appalled that we are allowing our government to gate off our city from the people who live, work and pay rates here," he said. "That we would spend $600,000 on a water cannon to be used against our citizens should they exercise their democratic right to demonstrate. Source.

MK - How about the right not to offend our guests, how about the right not to hear your incessant whining, how about the right not to have our city trashed, how about the right not to have our city represented by a bunch of unwashed welfare queen crackheads. Only in western society will such a bunch of loathesome, irritating oxygen thieves be allowed to prance around with impunity.

remember this?

The scumbag who murdered a man and was allowed to stay in Britain for "family reasons"?
"Lawrence murderer gets new home and identity - while taxpayers foot the bill

The murderer of headmaster Philip Lawrence is set to be given a new identity, a new home and intensive security protection. Learco Chindamo, will also get the benefit of a Draconian court order to protect his privacy and prevent anyone revealing where he is "

Different Country, Same Vermin

Just the other day I was banging on about the ratbags that seem to think they have the right to trash our cities and do whatever the hell they want to here in Australia. Well, it looks like it's a common trend amongst the young over in New Zealand too.
Students have claimed heavy handed tactics by police exacerbated the riots in Dunedin over the weekend. Police were pelted with bottles, drunken students set fire to cars and mattresses, and 69 arrests were made between 7pm on Friday and 7am yesterday. Today a Dunedin police spokesman said the city had been quiet overnight. "I guess they're all sleeping it off," he said. The rioting was centred in the heart of the student area of North Dunedin and took place in the wake of the student Undie 500 car race from Christchurch to Dunedin. Mr Ross said police were at one of the flats talking to the occupants on Saturday night when they began to be pelted with bottles.

"It was totally unprovoked." It took police, with extra reinforcements from outlying areas, until about 11pm to bring the crowd under control. Mr Ross said police and fire crews were lucky to escape without any serious injury as students threw bottles and set cars alight, he said. "Some police have got some nasty grazes from flying bottles." Dunedin's mayor Peter Chin said he was devastated by the aftermath of the destruction he saw. Mr Chin said the council and university had made good progress over the years managing the event to ensure problems like last night were avoided. "All those measures haven't worked." Source.
Yeah I'll bet some of those measures were things like avoid confrontations, hold hands, sing kumbaya, get the shields up and just take a pelting until the vermin get tired and go home. Put the tissue box back Mayor, take some calcium tablets, have some fine Tennessee whiskey, and then call the coppers in. You tell em' the next time they hear of trouble, you head down there in numbers, get in their faces and when the young bucks start swinging their peckers and a few bottles and bricks come flying, you send some rubber bullets and a few of the bricks back at them. You and the bleeding hearts will be shocked at how quickly the young vermin can learn manners, maintain the peace and a whole lot of respect.

The Horror! The Horror! The paranoid style of the American left

The second part of the heading above is an allusion to a famous article, "The Paranoid Style in American Politics", by Richard Hofstadter, published in Harper's Magazine in November 1964. Hofstadter argues that both the Left and the Right can be paranoid but the examples he gives of paranoia on the Right are a little unfortunate in view of subsequent events. He said that a suspicion of covert Communist influences at the highest level of American government was paranoid. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, however, it was revealed that the FDR/Truman government was in fact riddled with Soviet agents. Excerpt:

The fascists are coming! Or rather, they're already here, installed in the White House, planning like mad to subvert the Constitution and extend their reign in perpetuity, having first suppressed and eviscerated all opposition and put all of their critics in jail. Thus goes the rant of America's increasingly unhinged left. If only, sigh many Bush partisans, wondering when this administration will get out of the fetal position and show some fighting spirit. To them, as to most reasonable observers, the White House shows the chronic fatigue of a two-term presidency reaching its final year. Nonetheless, paranoia about what Bush and Co. are up to preys on the minds of many progressives, who have progressed, in this case at least, beyond reason.

It Can Happen Here, says Joe Conason, in his book of the same name, and in fact it already has started: George W. Bush and his coterie are the very picture of the pious and scheming homegrown fascisti that Sinclair Lewis described in his 1935 novel It Can't Happen Here. Similarities abound. In Lewis's novel, "Buzz Windrip" (Bush), an illiterate dweeb with sleazy charm and low animal cunning, backed by Lee Sarason (Karl Rove), a smooth and duplicitous political mastermind, becomes president, cooks up a fake war to extend his own power, cows Congress, corrupts the courts, bankrupts the country, and all but destroys the free press. The core of his power is a sinister nexus of theocrats joined at the hip to corporate interests, and you can tell how evil they are by their proclaimed love of country, and their incessant talk about God. In their endeavors, they are backed by the Hearst newspaper empire (Fox News), the only one left after all other outlets have been shut down.

Fox News looms large in the liberal panic about creeping fascism--an immense smoke machine pumping poison gas into the atmosphere 24/7, against which there is neither escape nor defense. This theory of the pervasive malevolent power of Fox rests on a quip by anchor Brit Hume that the network played a decisive role in the 2002 midterms, which Conason seems to take seriously, and the scholarly output of two obscure professors arguing that Fox swung the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004 as well. "Citing what they call 'The Fox Effect,'" Conason informs us, "professors Stefano Della Vigna of the University of California at Berkeley and Ethan Kaplan of the University of Stockholm found that the network convinced 2 to 8 percent of its non-Republican viewing audience to 'shift its voting behavior toward the Republican party.'" If they say so. But there is no corresponding mention of the NBC-ABC-CBS-Time-Newsweek-New York Times "effect," and what its impact on voters might be.

At the same time that Conason is looking back to a fictional past in America, Naomi Wolf--last heard from in 2000 advising Al Gore to dress in earth tones--is looking back to a real past in Europe, and seeing troubling parallels. In 4,600 overwrought words, she explained to the readers of the Guardian that there are ten steps to "Fascist America" and Bush is taking them all. He has whipped up a menace (the war on terror); created "a prison system outside the rule of law" (Guantanamo, to which public dissidents, including "clergy and journalists" will be sent "soon enough"); developed "a thug caste .... groups of scary young men out to terrorize citizens" (young Republican staffers who supposedly "menaced poll workers" during the 2000 recount in Florida); set up an "internal surveillance system" (NSA scanning for phone calls to and from terrorists). An airtight case, this, and leading to just one conclusion: "Beneath our very noses, George Bush and his administration are using time-tested tactics to close down an open society. It is time for us to be willing to think the unthinkable.... that it can happen here."

Well, this explains many things. It explains why poor Cindy Sheehan is now sitting in prison; why Bush critics like CIA retiree Valerie Plame have been ostracized by the corporate media and are wasting away in anonymity; why no critic of Bush can get a hearing, why no book complaining about him can ever get published, and why our multiplexes are filled with one pro-Bush propaganda movie after another, glorifying the Iraq war and rallying the nation behind its leader.

Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, Cindy Sheehan is running for Congress; Valerie Plame is rich and famous; the young Republican "thugs" made all of one appearance seven years ago--chanting "Let us in!" when Miami-Dade County vote counters planned to move to a small inner room with no observers present; and press censorship is now so far-reaching that you can't even expose a legal, effective, and top-secret plan to trace terrorists without getting a Pulitzer Prize. " .....

Over and over, they do what they claim their opponents are doing, want to do, or have done: make vast leaps of faith on almost no evidence, get carried away on large waves of emotion, build towering edifices on small collections of factoids, omit, deny, or denounce all contrary evidence, build fantastical schemes which they project on the enemy, put two and two together and get 384. People are entitled to say what they want, but it takes something other than reason to look at raging debates and discern in them fascistic oppression, to look at large Republican losses (wholly in line with a sixth-year election) and see massive fraud on the part of the losers, to look at today's South and see John Calhoun's, to draft both the Bushes (and the entire Republican party) into the Confederate Army, 150 years after the fact. Facts on the ground have no effect on their fantasies, which exist in a realm of their own.

Let's give the last words to Mark Crispin Miller [Himself a well-known paranoid of the Left so he speaks from experience], as he told the blog Buzzflash in February 2006. [See also here]:

"That sort of warped perception comes from extreme paranoid projectivity: the tendency to rail at others for traits or longings that one hates and fears inside oneself..... We're dealing with a movement that is anti-rational. It's faith-based ..... it's a movement that believes what it believes, and it believes what it believes is right. ... It believes what it wants to believe. If it hears contrary evidence, it comes up with evidence of its own. .... This is not a movement that the rational can ever shame into surrendering by merely demonstrating its illogic to its followers. ... Paranoia .. is based on fear, and therefore on a kind of 'logic' that's impervious to evidence and quite incapable of learning from experience. ... Paranoia is an atavism, deep within us all."

The Racist EU

What fun! That old British stirrer, Gerald Hartup, has scored a hit. Hartup regularly draws attention to Leftists violating their own regulations

The European Commission is to remove the comic "What me a racist?" from its Europa website following a complaint from civil liberties group Liberty and Law taken up on its behalf by the Commission for Racial Equality [CRE].

The glossy A4 comic produced in 1998 to combat racism was published in all the official European Union languages. It was "designed for teachers to use when addressing the subject of racism with young people" and has been on its website since 2001.

Liberty and Law complained about the offensive racial caricatures of the black characters portrayed, reminiscent of the treatment given to Africans in Herg,'s 1931 book Tintin in the Congo.

The CRE made rapid progress with the Commission for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. On 21 August the CRE told Liberty and Law that the Commission underlined to them that it was "not their intention to be offensive to any group or individual and are looking into the matter". Just a few hours later Commissioner Spidla's spokesperson asked the Communications Directorate General to remove the comic from its website.

Arabic classes halted at kuffar/infidel US school

Nah, I'm just kiddin, don't get yer hopes up, them Liberals haven't grown a pair to do this sort of thing. They're just picking on them Jews, easy targets they are, just the way lefties like it.
A charter school has been ordered to temporarily suspend Hebrew classes while officials try to determine whether teachers are advocating the Jewish faith. Ben Gamla is in its first week of operation as the country's first Hebrew-language charter school, but school founder Peter Deutsch, a former Democratic congressman, said he told teachers Thursday to halt the classes. He said he shared Notter's aim to ensure religion doesn't enter a publicly funded school. It takes its name from a Jewish high priest, serves kosher food, and its director is a rabbi. Without Hebrew classes, though, Deutsch said its most central component is missing. "It is kind of crazy - the only Hebrew-English charter school in America doesn't teach Hebrew," he said. What about that public school in New York offering Arabic language & culture, oops my mistake, that one's about diversity and global citizens, so I'll just shut up then.

Russia: "At least it's patriotic"

The year 2007 may well be best remembered in future as the year Russia completed its transition to Fascism. All the pieces are now in place. Critics of the government have been imprisoned or murdered; there is virtually no independent media left; homosexuals are persecuted; the major industries are once again under government control; military muscle is being flexed with resumed bomber patrols around the world and -- as we see here -- the Vladimir Putin personality cult is ratcheting up. And I have posted previously on the "Nashi" youth movement -- pic below.

As a Libertarian, I regard Fascism as thoroughly antithetical to what I would like to see but I do see one redeeming feature of Russian Fascism: At least it's patriotic.

The Left in the Western world have slimed their way into power across the board. Whether or not right-of-centre politicians are elected, the Left still controls most of academe, the media and the bureaucracy. And the Left do their best to squash the feelings of love of country that come naturally to those of us blessed enough to live in the advanced societies of the world. Patriotism may even be legally suppressed as "hate speech" on occasions. "Hate" is so broadly defined by the Left that any belief in the superiority of Western civilization can qualify as "hate".

And yet we live in a world where cultural self-confidence is badly needed. The Islamics have plenty of confidence in their culture and are quite determined to shove it down our necks any way they can. We could squash them like bugs if we wanted to (nuke Mecca, for instance) but the Left have created a climate in which any defence of our own values is disallowed. So we let the Islamists continue with their depredations and killings. We seem unable to say that our culture is superior and that those who attack it will live to regret it.

I see no such self-doubt in modern Russia. They will not allow the Islamics to browbeat them in any way and will squash them like bugs if they try. It could be that Russian Fascism ends up as the only remaining alternative to Islam outside of Asia. I don't really think that is likely but if it should, I would be emigrating to Russia. Russian scientific and cultural achievements are of the first rank, even if their political leadership has always left much to be desired -- and with my blue eyes and fair skin I would look right there.

And let it be noted that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a strong supporter of the Church. As a Russian, he may even be a believer. The Russians are a very religious people, despite all that the Communists could do. So Russia will undoubtedly continue to be a transmitter of the great heritage of Christian thought.

I am an atheist but sitting in a great stone cathedral and reflecting on the wonderful words of the wise men of the Bible while listening to (say) the Twofold Litany of St. John Chrysostom would be a great pleasure to me. If you have not seen an Orthodox church service, you aint seen nothin'. They do all the stuff that we in the West have long forgotten: Rude screens, golden crowns, the lot. There is a short (excerpt) sound file of the Twofold Litany here -- sung by the great Russian bass, Feodor Chaliapin. I find it heart-stopping.

There is of course the unhappy possibility that Putin's Russia will be expansionist -- like Hitler and Mussolini -- but a comparison with Franco and Peron -- Fascists who kept out of international involvements -- would be equally defensible. Only time will tell. Some sort of re-absorption of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia is certainly on the cards and would be greeted by little more than raised eyebrows in the West.

An old joke:

"A man interested in increasing his intelligence walked into a "brain shop" and perused the price list. It ran a bit like this:

* Laborer's brain: $10 / ounce.
* Engineer's brain: $50 / ounce.
* Professor's brain: $100 / ounce.
* Leftie's brain: $10,000 / ounce.

Flummoxed, the man asked the proprietor why the last price was so much higher than the others. The proprietor cocked an eyebrow and replied, "Do you have any idea how many lefties it takes to get an ounce of brain?"

Guns, knives and dishonest headlines:

Front page headlines at
"TWO teens have been arrested after a boy, 11, was shot dead in the latest of a series of youth deaths that has put gun crime in Britain high on the political agenda."

Yet 30 seconds in Dogpile reveals:
"THE full extent of Britain’s violent crime epidemic, which yesterday claimed the life of another teenager, is revealed in shocking new figures that show the number of street robberies involving knives has more than doubled in two years.
"Hard facts - The murder of 14 year old Paul Erhahon on 6th April 2007 was reported as the 7th under 16 year old to be murdered in London in 2 months (and that's just London). During March, 30 year old Kevin Platt and at least two other youths were fatally stabbed in separate incidents in Manchester, whilst the string of reported deaths and stabbings have continued throughout April and into May. The most recently reported deaths (as @ 20th May 07), being the fatal stabbing in Sunderland of 22 year old Kevin Johnson and in a separate incident in Sunderland on the same night, the non fatal stabbing in the chest of another male."
It's not necessary for journalists and editors to actually lie--this is a bloody typical case of carefully placed emphasis and omission of vital information in order to to serve their agenda.

Climate change and your sex - is there a link?

[Australian] GREENS candidate for Williamstown Janet Rice has told of her husband's decision to become a woman. Ms Rice last night confirmed her partner's male-to-female gender transition after 17 years of marriage. Ms Rice, endorsed by the Greens to contest ex-premier Steve Bracks' bayside seat, told the Herald Sun her husband, Peter Whetton, became Penelope four years ago. "It was certainly challenging because we were happily married, but we are still happily married," she said.

"It's certainly been a big thing for us to go through but we got through it. "Yes, we're still happily married, yes, we still love each other." Ms Rice would not say whether Dr Whetton had undergone gender reassignment surgery. "She socially transitioned four years ago but other than that, it's our private life. "As far as the world is concerned, Peter became Penny four years ago. It's my private life." Dr [Penelope, I think] Whetton is a climate change researcher with the CSIRO. She has led its climate impact and risk research team since 2005. Source.

MK - Do I see hands being raised for funds [taxpayer off course] to conduct years of research into this vital question? Italics - Mine.

Severe Limits on Speech in Canada

There is a recent summary from a legal source here of Canadian speech law. It is amazingly restrictive. Canada's constitutional provisions protecting free speech are arguably stronger than the U.S. 1st Amendment but Canadian courts have been even more scornful of their constitution than SCOTUS has been of the U.S. constitution. One of the legal provisions that the Canadian courts permit is quite amazing:

Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act prohibits the communication, including the Internet, of messages that are likely to expose a person to hatred or contempt.

And you thought hatred was loosely defined! In Canada just contempt is illegal. And it doesn't have to be actual contempt either. It can be just "likely" to cause contempt. And it does not even have to affect some group. It may even affect just "a person". Almost any negative utterance at all would seem to be covered.

So if I say (and I do) that Canadians are deeply Fascist as judged by their speech laws, I am sure that I am likely to cause some Canadian to be regarded with contempt by that. I imagine that quite a lot of my readers will feel contempt for Canada after reading this, in fact. So I have clearly broken Canadian law.

They might have a job extraditing me from Australia, though. This post would not be illegal in Australia. One has to feel rather sorry for the muzzled people of the icy North.

But we all know that they will not bother me for speaking ill of Canada. It is certain privileged groups that they work for, not Canadians as a whole. So let me speak some forbidden truth about one of those extra-special groups: Homosexuals are abnormal and deviant and are doomed to shorter lives by the adverse health effects of their typical practices. They are a biological futility and dead-end. Let the Canadian Schutz Staffeln chew on that one!

Another Hero

An Iraqi man saved the lives of four U.S. Soldiers and eight civilians when he intercepted a suicide bomber during a Concerned Citizens meeting in the town of al-Arafia Aug. 18. The incident occurred while Soldiers from 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, were talking with members of the al-Arafia Concerned Citizens, a volunteer community group, at a member’s house. “I was about 12 feet away when the bomber came around the corner,” said Staff Sgt. Sean Kane, of Los Altos, Calif., acting platoon sergeant of Troop B, 3-1 Cav. “I was about to engage when he jumped in front of us and intercepted the bomber as he ran toward us. As he pushed him away, the bomb went off.” The citizen’s actions saved the lives of four U.S. Soldiers and eight civilians. Source. Via The Jawa Report.

Thank you & RIP, I hope we can find out who this brave man is so we can properly acknowledge his sacrifice. Please let us know if you find out.

The gloves come off

The wife of Barack Obama told an audience in Atlantic, Iowa: “If you can’t run your own house, you can’t run the White House." She didn’t elaborate, but with her husband’s chief opponent, Hillary Clinton, married to the world’s most famous philanderer, she didn’t need to. Source.

MK - In other news, it seems more counselors, social workers, feelings-sessions, hand holding and weaseling around privacy laws is the answer, not ending stupid 'Gun-free' zones.

Virginia Tech university should increase counseling for troubled students and monitor those who may turn violent, according to a school review released Wednesday, months after the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history. The school should also install locks in classrooms and consider adding surveillance cameras, according to three reports ordered by the school after student Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 students and himself on April 16. The reports also said the school should expand its emergency-notification system. School President Charles Steger, in prepared remarks released with the reports, said it was not possible to completely secure such a large campus, which is home to about 25,000 full-time students. Source.

MK - If the hand holding and sharing feelings works and helps some students, I have no problems with that, but please end this 'Gun-free zone' nonsense. It is obvious it does not work, no matter how many times you wail about it.

Are we a bunch of little girls?

A few weeks ago I happened to catch the auditions for the 2007 Australian Idol, one particular fellow decided to dress up as someone from Kazakhstan. Anyway he proceeded to sing their national anthem, which I’m sure wasn’t the real one, but one line he sang still makes me laugh, “Kazakhstan is the greatest country in the world…” something, something “…all other countries are run by little girls…” Read the following and perhaps you too will wonder, basically some fellow has got approval to open a gunshop in the Sydney suburb of Roseville but the residents aren't too happy about it.
More than 200 furious residents packed the community hall to vent their frustration at a decision in which they had been given no voice and no legal recourse. The protestations of the local Mayor of Ku-ring-gai, Nick Ebbeck, that he had no power to distinguish between "a cake, candy or gun store'', was no excuse and promises by the regional police superintendent to install bollards and extra patrols, drew howls of derision. Fears of armed hold-ups and gunfights, as described by a local school principal, and memories of crime from a methadone clinic 10 years ago, remain strong. But it appears he is about as welcome in Babbage Road as a brothel, mainly because the shop front is directly opposite a community hall that runs near houses and a preschool. It is also near a major bus interchange used by school children.

Lisa Warrand is one of dozens of parents who fear the worst: the potential for an armed hold-up and shootout, or merely having to explain to children who walk past every day why a shop sells guns. "Roseville has five churches and no pubs. People buy in this area because they want a more family-focused area," she said yesterday. "We teach children how bad guns are and yet we are being put into a position where we have to explain why there is a man in the car park carrying a gun bought across the road." Sally Cochrane runs the Zest hairdressing salon a few doors away. She concedes that the chances of a hold-up are slim but says it is a risk that should rule out the shop from the neighbourhood. "Children and guns don't mix. It's as simple as that, and if there is a robbery then it could be disastrous,'' she said. "I accept that this man has a right to open his shop and to sell guns, but not here.'' Source.
This has been running hot on the talkback lines, not quite as hot as the vermin preparing to descend upon Sydney to whine about their good fortune though. I heard someone say that there was crying or wailing during the meeting of the 200 residents mentioned above. In all honesty, opposite a preschool is probably not the best place for a gun shop, but I really think the residents of Roseville are overreacting. From what I’ve read and heard from hysterical callers you'd get the impression that the fellow is opening a store selling cocaine, crack, ice, child-porn, porn and nuclear weapons, all at discounted rates to anyone. I saw one schoolgirl on the news saying, “They are not helping the world by selling guns” and some other fellow saying, “who knows what kind of lowlifes & criminals they'll attract to the area”.

It’s almost as if they loathe guns, have these folks forgotten that all this family-focused and free to roam the streets is guaranteed by men with guns. If everybody is scared of hold ups, then close the bank too; close the supermarket and the petrol station as well. Are they seriously raising children to believe that guns are bad and people who like guns are bad, period? Have they forgotten that diggers fought, not with candles and posies, but guns? This might come as a shock to these folks, but not everyone who has a gun is a bad person and wants to go on a shooting rampage, they might want to consider this before running in the opposite direction shrieking hysterically every time they see a policeman with that smallish black metal thing strapped to his hip.

I’m not saying we need to make guns a mandatory subject at school, not that that’s such a bad idea or something, but the way these people are carrying on is ridiculous. Instilling a gun phobia and raising our children like small girls all their lives is doing them more harm in the long run. To paraphrase an old saying, those who were repelled by their guns and turned them into plows usually ended up plowing the fields of those who did not.

Florida: Incorrect to Depict Common Black Realities?

We read:

"An editorial cartoon in last Friday's Florida Times-Union depicting a gunman wearing a T-shirt saying "Don't Snitch" continues to draw criticism, with some black leaders calling for an apology, the firing of the cartoonist and other demands.

Two young children drawn in the cartoon say "I didn't see nuttin'!" Then the gunman says, "Now that's a good little ho!

In a letter sent to all Jacksonville television stations as well as the newspaper, the Jacksonville Leadership Coalition called the cartoon "racist, culturally insensitive and degrading to African-American women."

We must not mention that black men regularly call black women "hos"? Or must we not mention that "don't snitch" is a major commandment among many blacks?

Some gang members even wear t-shirts that forbid snitching.

BBC: Incorrect to Depict Muslim Realities?

We read:

"The BBC has dropped plans to show a fictional terror attack in an episode of Casualty to avoid offending Muslims.

The first show of the hospital drama's new series was to have featured a storyline about an explosion caused by Islamic extremists.

Muslim horrors must not be mentioned but you can make up all the horrors you like about Lady Thatcher of course. But it is a long time since the BBC was concerned about reality at all.

Zahoor Shah - Honorary Member of the British Empire

When British soldiers turned up at the embassy in Kabul following the fall of the Taleban, their path was blocked by an elderly Afghan gentleman. For 12 years, Zahoor Shah [on your right] had tended the roses in the compound, hidden away the ambassadorial silver and barred fighters from entering. It took the British some hours before they could persuade him that the rightful owners had finally returned. By the time the new Charge d'Affaires Stephen Evans and his staff turned up the following day, Mr Shah was properly attired to welcome them. "I arrived on the afternoon of 19 November 2001. We came down the curving drive and pulled up at the entrance of the embassy. "Mr Shah was at the top of the stairs, wearing his white coat with gold buttons and black trousers to greet us," said Mr Evans. He had found heating oil and the old grand table was set for dinner with the ambassadorial china, silver and crystal glasses.

Lock the Ferals away

The Daily Telegraph reports APEC organisers are bracing for protests from a range of radical groups that are also recruiting high school students to take part. The revelations of the chaotic plans came as police yesterday issued a strong warning to parents that they could not guarantee the safety of children caught up in the protests. The groups to clog up Sydney for 11 days leading up to and during the summit include protest groups Resistance and the Socialist Alliance, secret security planning documents reveal. Also planning protests are the Maritime Union of Australia, Amnesty International, the Greens, Vietnamese and Chinese groups, and Critical Mass, with its monthly bike ride. On Saturday, September 8, at least 15,000 protesters are expected to clog the CBD.

The biggest protest, at 10am on that vday, is expected to be the 10,000-strong Stop Bush Stop Howard rally and march from Sydney Town Hall to Hyde Park North. The Stop Bush Coalition is also organising a stunt protest at Sydney Town Hall to coincide with the arrival of US President George W. Bush on September 4. Students from at least five Sydney high schools will also walk out of school in a student strike at 1pm on September 5 for a protest at Belmore Park. The route chosen by the protesters - from Sydney Town Hall down George St, into Martin Place and to Hyde Park - has yet to be approved by police. Premier Morris Iemma said the protesting "ferals" should not be using young students for their political ends. Source.

MK - Better get that wall ready folks, these are peace protestors, it's pretty much a gold plated guarantee that it'll turn violent, might want to think about getting a second water cannon too Premier. By the way if you have any spine Premier Iemma, you'll deny the protest, not only because of public safety, but also the fact that the rest of the world will see the pictures that Sydney can easily be over run by a bunch of vermin. Deny them the oxygen they crave, they are not the majority, they do no represent us, they are just a bunch of spoilt losers who will probably never experience real tyranny.

I heard one of these vermin or one of their supporters on the radio just now, apart from whining like a stuck pig about their right to protest and that denying them this would be tyranny, he had the audacity to declare that these bunch of stinking vermin are the guardians of our Democracy. Who ever that fellow was, stuff you asshole, you and your gang of filthy welfare queens are not the guardians of democracy, the real guardians of Democracy are the cop that puts his uniform on everyday and the soldier who protects our flag. Thanks to them, assholes like you will never experience real tyranny and oppression.

They got lucky

PASSERS-BY have been praised for coming to the aid of two female police officers who were assaulted by a man believed to be high on the drug ice in western Sydney. The Bankstown constables went to a car dealership yesterday afternoon after receiving reports of a man causing problems. Police said a 28-year-old man, who appeard to be high on ice, became aggressive and violent. He was sprayed with capsicum spray, which had no effect and then assaulted them before trying to take a gun from one of the officers. He pushed one officer into a parked car, making her hit her head and drop her baton. The man picked up the baton and was about to hit her with it when he was restrained by up to 10 passers-by, including a motorist who stopped his vehicle and ran across six lanes of traffic to help. Source.

Update - Just listening to the car dealer speaking to Radio 2GB, apparently the fellow wasn't affected by ice, he was schizophrenic and his medication had worn off.

MK - Firstly, good on the public for stepping in, good to see there are folks out there with a bit of spine and who are not willing to look the other way. Secondly, why are two female officers on duty together? It's all well and good to have equality of the sexes, however a woman against a crazed drug addict is asking for trouble, what if there were two or three such fellows causing trouble, these women were lucky the public stepped in. A few seconds delay here or there, this fellow could have got their guns, shot them both and then turned on the public who dared to step in. Here's a suggestion, and I know the lefties will be squealing over this, the next time two officers, male or female encounter this sort of thing, one pull out the capsicum spray, the other pull the gun, if the spray doesn't work, try bullets. Lower the tax burden too.

Why bloggers enrage journalists

All of these arguments about the need for reporters to report facts are dishonest. No one challenges this notion. No individual blogger could conceivably devote enough hours of his spare time (or his blogging time, if he does this full-time) to develop, confirm, and write a true bit of first-hand journalism once a week or so.

And the MSM knows that. They know their job on that score is secure -- simply because no one but a salaried reporter could put in forty hours a week working on a single story. (Especially because 99% of stories are not terribly important or remarkable, but still need to be reported -- but obviously no blogger could write up the Kalamazoo Crime Blotter three times a week and expect to be read by more than three thousand people as an absolute ceiling.)

What they are worried about is the decline in their influence as to matters not directly related to data-collection and not even remotely related to reportage. They're worried that they're losing their ability to shape (and mislead) public opinion in ways they find best for the public good. These people did not get into journalism, after all, to report on 3M's quarterly earnings advisory. They got into journalism to change things.

And they're desperately scrabbling to hold on tight to that bit of undeserved, undue influence by leveraging their entirely-unrelated qualifications to collect and disseminate raw information into a role they actually desire and feel they are worthy of-- a certified, credentialed priesthood of general wisdom, weighing in expertly on matters of politics, scientific and technological ethical dilemmas, foreign policy and of course military strategy, etc.

The Rudd Strip Club Fiasco

By now some of you mave have heard about our federal opposition leader Kevin Rudd and his jaunt in a New York strip club a while back. At the time I didn't make much of it apart from commenting at another blog that Kevin Rudd probably lost the Christian vote over this, since he's been pushing himself as some sort of boy scout, leftist Christian or something. Well things have changed a bit, this is what's being pushed forward as an explanation for this jaunt.
The owner of New York strip club Scores says Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd did not even stay long enough to finish his beer and urged his companions to leave during a brief boozy visit four years ago. Mr Rudd, Labor MP Warren Snowdon and the New York Post's Australian editor Col Allan went to Scores during a night out in Manhattan in September 2003.

Scores boss Elliot Osher says Mr Rudd behaved like a gentleman throughout the brief visit. And he says neither Mr Rudd, Mr Snowdon or Mr Allan touched the dancers or were thrown out of the club. Mr Osher said it was Mr Rudd who asked his group to leave. "I guess when he sat down he kind of realised it was a strip club and he said 'Oh no, this won't do'," he said. Source.
Not surprisingly, the 'unbiased' leftie News channel ABC is also pushing this line of explanation, incidentally one of their former employees is now running as a member of Kevin Rudd's Labor party. Well, thank God for talkback radio, it would appear that Kevin Rudd and his team of advisors seem to be a bit loose with the truth. Listen to the following highlights from Radio 2GB's Ray Hadley morning show. In summary, we have two sources confirming that the strip club owner initially said that it was Col Allan who wanted to leave the club and Kevin Rudd wanted to stay, he also said that it was Kevin Rudd and Warren Snowdon were the ones who were rowdy, snotty and uppity. However since then the strip club owner has changed his story and this is what the ABC is now conveniently running with.

Sounds like someone got to the strip club owner and helped him to 'refresh' his memory. Also regarding this impression we get that Kevin Rudd didn't realise it was a strip club, see the pictures below, can you tell what sort of club it is after you've walked in or do you need some breasts swinging in your face to help you make up your mind?

Stay tuned folks, I think there will be more coming tomorrow.

Multiculturalism's War on Education

"It is a gross misconception to view multiculturalism as an effort to enrich education. By reshaping the curriculum, the purveyors of "diversity" in the classroom calculatedly seek to prevent students from grasping the objective value to human life of Western culture--a culture whose magnificent achievements have brought man from mud huts to moon landings.
Multiculturalism is no boon to education, but an agent of anti-Western ideology."

And teachers--especially history teachers--are complicit in this. I don't for one moment believe that they're unaware of what they're doing.

Human Rights - Just not for you Lot

The widow of murdered headmaster Philip Lawrence bitterly condemned the Human Rights Act last night after his killer used it to stay in Britain. The Home Office wanted to deport Learco Chindamo to Italy, where he was born, after he becomes eligible for parole next year. But immigration judges ruled that expelling the 26-year-old, who has an Italian passport, would breach his right to a "family life" - something he denied Frances Lawrence and her four children.

Chindamo, son of a vicious Italian gangster and a woman from the Philippines, came to the UK at the age of six. He was 15 when he stabbed Mr Lawrence to death as the brave headteacher tried to stop an attack on another teenager outside his school in Maida Vale, West London. Chindamo was jailed for life for murder in October 1996 and told he must serve at least 12 years. Source.

MK - His lawyer thinks this fellow is "...a very reformed, very nice, very thoughtful person." Apparently he's planning to become a nurse now. Read the full article to see what a charming fellow this Chindamo is, this crime was just the tip of the iceberg, why this piece of excrement was given life but eligible for parole in 12 years is beyond me. Don't deport him if there isn't enough bone density for that, just throw the key into the Thames and let him play nurse to his fellow inmates till the end of his days then.

More BBC Hate Speech

We read:

"The BBC has been forced to remove statements from its website referring to Jesus as a 'bastard'. It is the latest in a string of offensive comments that BBC editors have allowed members of the public to post.... The comments were allowed to remain for a week despite complaints. But after The Mail on Sunday contacted senior BBC officials, they were deleted....

One website user wanted to see if BBC editors were allowing these offensive remarks to remain while blocking others. He wrote: "No one can surpass the Muslims for denial of their role in Terrorism and Suicide bombing." The remarks were almost immediately deleted.

The BBC has also been criticised for allowing allegedly anti-Semitic posts from a contributor called "Iron Naz'. In a message left on the site for more than a month, Iron Naz says: "Zionism is a racist ideology where jews are given supremacy over all other races and faiths. This is found in the Talmud...which allows jews to lie as long as its to non-jews."

The remarks brought complaints from the Board of Deputies, the organisation that represents Britain's Jews and its Community Security Trust. They say the post draws on a discredited 19th Century text, the Talmud Unmasked, which is still distributed by neo-Nazi booksellers. However, the BBC said the remarks did not merit removal.

"Islam = good; Homosexuals = good; Christianity = bad; Israel = bad" is the BBC formula. And they accuse conservatives of being simple-minded!
