British taxpayer to fund losers sailing on the high seas

Daily Mail - A plan by health chiefs to spend £1.75million on buying a yacht and launching a 'sailing academy' for jobless teenagers has been condemned as a scandalous waste of money. Bosses at NHS Hull, the primary care trust in one of Britain's unhealthiest cities, say the project to train young people to sail the ocean-going vessel will improve their life prospects and have a positive long-term effect on their health. ...... The scheme to train 150 teenagers a year has been inspired by a Humberside initiative in which ten young people helped crew a boat in a round-the-world Clipper yacht race. All the participants went on to get full-time jobs or places in education and training schemes.
It sounds warm and fuzzy and all that, the proponents of this scheme might have good intentions at heart, but you have to wonder if this is the only way to motivate young scumbags to get a job. And in case anyone came down in the last shower or is some sort of leftist and thinks that this £1.75million is coming from Santa Claus or from the bosses at the NHS, it's not, it's tax payers money. And to add insult to injury, you could have worked 30 years and never committed a crime and just you try and get that yacht, which you paid a bit for, for half a day!

The other thing you have to remember is that the youngsters who are behaving themselves and working where they can, can't get on this fancy yacht. Say you're cleaning toilets, working nights or whatever because you want to get ahead but have this interest in sailing or some such, if you turn up there for selection, they'll just tell you to shove off; sorry, only losers and bums welcome here, but we'll take your tax money, thanks. Oh, and in case you were wondering if the wretched taxpayer will get any of this 1.75 million fat, if these losers don't go on to run Fortune-500 companies or become MPs in the Labour Party angling to fleece more money off other people, think again suckers, the joke's always on the taxpayer.

Instead of spending millions of pounds of other people's money, why don't they put the following out there as the only alternative to the young rascals too lazy to study or find a damn job all by themselves. Get a job by yourself, if you can't, then head to the nearest welfare office and they'll find one for you. If that's not good enough for you, then starve. If you turn to crime, don't come here wailing about how it's someone else's fault, chain-gangs for you chump.

Heavens above, it'll save the taxpayer a lot of money and to boot, we won't need any more nannying bureaucratic parasites to come up with fancy ways to spend other people's money.
