The war they wanted.

The Democrats in America and Labor in Australia are always banging on about Iraq being the wrong war, as if the terrorists fighting in Iraq will also pack their bags and head to Afghanistan if our soldiers are ‘relocated’ there. We are constantly told that coalition forces are doing more harm than good in Iraq and the real terrorists are somewhere on the Afghan-Pakistan border, as if the Islamists in Pakistan are just going to look the other way if 200,000 foreign troops are running around blowing the place to smithereens hunting for Osama.

As the situation worsens, pray that it doesn’t, in Afghanistan; increasing numbers of civilians will be killed no matter how hard you try to avoid it, as we have learnt in Iraq. The will of these leftists will be tested again; supposedly this is the war they will fight.
Up to 21 civilians have died during two Nato operations, Afghan reports say. Eight Afghan civilians have been killed in Nato air strikes in Kandahar province, the regional governor said. In Helmand, the police chief said some civilians had died during clashes, but did not confirm reports that 13 people had died when a rocket hit their home.

Nato's force in Afghanistan said civilians had died in Kandahar. UK forces said the house bombed in Helmand had been clear of civilians. In Kandahar, the dead included women and children, said Governor Asadullah Khalid, adding that the strike had targeted three compounds in the Zhari district. Nato's International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) said civilians had been killed during an air strike in Kandahar province, but would not give a figure.

Isaf expressed "deep regret" over the deaths of civilians and said it made "every effort to minimise the risk of collateral damage during its operations". The 37-nation alliance said the purpose of the strikes was to detain people involved in recent roadside bomb attacks in Panjwayi, which borders Zhari.
I doubt they have the intestinal fortitude, give it a few months, if the casualty count rises; just watch, these leftists will be making excuses to raise the white flag and walk away yet again.

Moving onto someone who is willing to fight and put America and Americans first, and less interested in the rights of terrorist scumbags and evening news one-liners.
The US has adopted a tough new policy aimed at protecting its interests in space and denying "adversaries" access there for hostile purposes. The document - signed by President Bush - also says "freedom of action in space is as important to the United States as air power and sea power".

The document rejects any proposals to ban space weapons. The 10-page strategic document states that the US national security "is critically dependent upon space capabilities, and this dependence will grow".

"The United States will preserve its rights, capabilities, and freedom of action in space... and deny, if necessary, adversaries the use of space capabilities hostile to US national interests," it says.
At least someone’s addressing the reality that the world community is unwilling to stop crackpots, like the one in Pyongyang. I’ll bet that ‘bonehead’ in the white house, said something simplistic like, “I you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.” That’s sure to get the ‘nuanced’ all worked up.

For all we know, America already has the capability to shield itself from incoming nuclear missiles or is well on the way there. I hope most Americans understand now that their security lies best in their own hands and not with the UN or snuggling up to faraway Eurabians.
