Rudd the Dud

Failed ALP leadership aspirant, Kevin 'Pixie' Rudd sets low standards and consistently fails to achieve them. Today's statement about the Australian Government's decision to not endorse the mandate of the UN continuing within Timor-Leste is political opportunism at it's worst.

The final part of Rudd the dud's statement reads as follows;

"It is extraordinary that on the back of the Government's decision to deploy 450 additional troops to Iraq, Mr Howard and Mr Downer have almost simultaneously decided to withdraw support for the continuation of the UN peacekeeping mission in one of our nearest neighbours. While the Howard Government's priorities are firmly fixed on the other side of the world it continues to neglect security interests closer to home.Labor will seek an immediate briefing from Mr Downer's Department as to the rationale of this decision."

Yet again, agitprop from the ill-informed. They (ALP) admit that they know nothing of the situation, but are quite willing to pronounce policy edicts on aforementioned events. From this statment, it would be reasonable to infer that the ALP want to KEEP members of the ADF in Timor-Leste for at least another 12 months, and probably longer. How bad is the security situation Kevin? Do you know? When was the last time the border posts were attacked by militia and required Australian security forces to bolster the Timorese military and police? You don't know, do you?

Today's tip for ALP foreign policy spokes-people: Open mouth. Remove thy foot. Close mouth. Don't re-open mouth unless you know what's going on.
