Friday funnies - Labor to fix our cities

News.com.au - The federal government is finally learning what Sydney residents have known for years: quality of life in the country's largest city is falling away, a victim of inadequate investment in transport and housing. Australian cities have slipped from the top of world's-most-liveable-cities lists due to congestion and creaking infrastructure.

The federal Infrastructure Minister, Anthony Albanese, will today outline the Rudd Government's push to cut across state and local authorities, as he releases a snapshot into the state of Australian cities that will form the basis of a national cities policy. The report makes clear the federal government will override local concerns if it thinks projects are in the national interest.

LOL. They have been screwing us into this mess for years now and now that an election is looming kevvie and his band of sniveling weasels are suddenly going to fix it all!

Bwahahahahahaha.

Yeah real funny, thanks for the laughs guys.

That sounds like something Chairman Mao would have said.

  2. You may laugh, but unfortunately this type of spin seems to work very well for them. Just look at the state NSW is in, and despite that, some 35% of the population will still give Labor their first preference.
It won't be all that different federally. Too many people have only a very short attention span when it comes to political/economic issues, and they will remember getting $900 "free" money for a lot longer than anything to do with failing infrastructure.

  3. Valid point Phil, the Feds seem to be running roughshod over a lot of people these days, all to make kevvie feel special.

Sadly true James, but i'll laugh anyway, in a more bitter than funny way.
