Dudd08 - The stink is finally getting to us

kevin_rudd.jpgThe Australian - In the past six months, the percentage of people who fear their living conditions will "get worse" has more than doubled - the biggest jump in the 23-year history of Newspoll's standard-of-living survey - as the percentage ofthose expecting an improvement almost halved. [snip] According to the latest Newspoll survey on standard-of-living expectations, conducted at the weekend, the percentage of people who think their living conditions will get worse in thenext six months has gone from just 18per cent after the November election of the Rudd Government to 43 per cent. In December, the percentage who thought it would get better in the next six months was 21 per cent. That figure has since slumped to just 13per cent.... [snip]

Fears are also mounting about the effect of a new emissions trading scheme - designed to cut greenhouse gases by putting a price on carbon emissions - on petrol prices and jobs in the coal industry. [snip] The Newspoll survey on standards of living shows even Labor voters - who after the election of the Rudd Labor Government last year were the most optimistic they had been for 10 years - have lost confidence. Six months ago, 24 per cent of Labor supporters thought their standard of living would improve, but that has dropped to 17 per cent, and the proportion of those who thought it would get worse has more than doubled, from 14per cent to 34 per cent.
Well, what happened PM Dudd, what happened to - ease the squeeze, war on climate change, the buck stops with me, end the blame game, economic conservative, groceries and petrol, out of touch, blowtorch to OPEC, kevvie from brissie, hit the ground running, govern for all Australians? I'm sure PM Dudd is franctically searching for a new foreign hotspot to jet off to and escape the heat, some stupid, useless cause that he can take up and delegate to one of his poor minions to distract us from his bungling. Remember we recently found out that the public service was unhappy with PM Dudd because of his manic work schedule.

You'd think that someone who was working like mad and long into the night would be able to come up with some good policy. I noticed this morning that PM Dudd is looking at overhauling public transport across Australia. Keep an eye on the headlines folks, if there's even a small chance that it might save his bumbling ass, there will be an announcement about the glorious new war on public transport. No wait, that doesn't sound right, never mind, I'm sure PM Dudd will be able to spin it into something warm and fuzzy sounding. Either way, even if Labor voters are disillusioned with Dudd08, it's too late now, we're stuck with him till 2010 and it still remains to be seen if we'll see past the spin of Kevin10.
