Lie down with dogs..

.. then don't be shocked when you wake up with fleas.
Senator Joe Lieberman has been representing Connecticut for 18 years now in Washington, and aside from almost snatching the vice-presidency in 2000 as Al Gore's running-mate, he also ran for president in 2004.

But after years of supporting President George W Bush's war policy, and scolding fellow Democrats who question it, he now faces a backlash from local anti-war activists and liberal bloggers all over the country.
My advice to the democrats, if you want to be taken seriously, employ a 'cut-em-loose' policy with anti-war activists, eco terrorists, pacifists and other such vocal but ultimately irrelevant people.

They will cheer you on and squeal and shriek loudly, the media will also support you, but the masses out there, who do the voting, will desert you and send you packing. When you are wandering around in political oblivion, you'll long for the supporting cheers and fancy placards.

If you want to run on an anti-war platform, remember this, you are against the freeing of a people from the rule of a murderous tyrant, which ever way you look at it, call it illegal, call it unilateral, call it lies, call it cheating, whatever you want, but the truth is America liberated two countries from the grip of tyrants. Make the choice, will you support your own country or work against it, I would have thought it a simple choice.

See what the media are calling it, probably unknowingly.
Opposition to the senator's unwavering support for the "stay the course" strategy in Iraq permeates the Democratic insurgent's entire pitch.
Do you want to be seen giving comfort to scum who butcher women and children.
