They loved power and control over others by manipulative deceptive argument. They used clever sounding highfaluting philosophical falsities that down-to-earth, straight thinking, straight talking men could not very well argue against. They even claimed that reality is just a personal perception, and goodness, rightness and fairness are just social standards.
They used such false precepts to relieve themselves of principles, to justify themselves, and to dispute other’s arguments, but they resorted to concocted absolutes to condemn others, just as leftists do today. The down-to-earth men of ancient Greece were mostly tradesmen, soldiers, farmers and such. They lived and worked with the laws of reality, so they knew truth exists, and that true goodness, rightness and fairness exist too. In gospel times the hypocrites were similar to the Greecian sophists. As with the leftists of today, the hypocrites of gospel times falsely portrayed themselves as society’s good people, but really they were elitist control freaks who used false virtue to pressure others.
Since those days the battle has continued between those who like power and control over others, and those who prefer truth, freedom of the individual, and genuine goodness.
Political correctness is the left’s present-day manifestation of power and control in western nations. The desire of the left to control and oppress others is what drives political correctness, and fear is what complies with it. Political correctness has nothing to do with consideration for others – that is a false front. Political correctness is intimidation and hypocrisy.
The principle reason that Trump came to power is because he stood against the oppression of political correctness. And the reason Trump’s supporters excuse him is because he continues to stand against political correctness. In the eyes of Trump’s supporters, error that Trump has made is as bad as leftists telling everyone else what they are allowed to say and think. Trump remains preferred to the alternative – leftist oppression of opinion and speech.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487055.post-77116914222752664622018-08-16T04:38:16.369+10:002018-08-16T04:38:16.369+10:00First of all, your post says Thursday August 16th ...First of all, your post says Thursday August 16th but alas, it is not. One world, one clock, equality surely applies to time as with everything else. Second of all, here is a quote for Wednesday August 15th: "The essence of knowledge is, having it, to apply it; not having it, to confess your ignorance." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZWsBy7D6bgConfusionusnoreply@blogger.com
