Sadly it was "liberated" from my collection many years ago. Anyway, there was an entire section on the music of the North African campaign, notably the German contribution. There was quite a lot on good stuff about Norbert Schultze who composed music to the poem "Lili Marlene". Schultze also wrote other works for the German forces, such as "Bombs for England" and Tanks Roll into Africa". An unforgettable section from the text recounts that by the time Schultze finished "Forward with Rommel", The Field Marshall was going backwards and the song was shelved.<br /><br />It is interesting to note that when Kander and Ebb wrote "Cabaret" they captured the essence of this music in chilling perfection when the Hitler Jugend leader sings "Tomorrow Belongs to Me"Brucenoreply@blogger.com
