Global Cooling Squelches Global Warming Protest

It’s always fun to read about global warming fanatics who chose to hold their protests in the middle of winter. This always has a potential for a propaganda disaster, particularly in Salt Lake City, Utah where, while hot in the summer (it’s a desert), it gets very cold in the winter and is prone to heavy snowfall (which is why they held the winter Olympics there). Just this past Wednesday a group of nitwits from the University of Utah tried to hold a “scream-in” to show “their frustration about the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks”, only to be thwarted by a blizzard.

"Not many people showed up because of the blizzard conditions," said organizer Clea Major, an international studies student at the University of Utah. From the Salt Lake Tribune

These people claim to be able to predict changes in the weather 100 years from now, but don’t bother to check the weather forecast for the day of their protest. I guess that’s to be expected, given the tendency for global warming “scientists” to ignore or destroy data that doesn’t show things getting hotter. Perhaps they thought that the forecast for blizzard conditions was part of the global warming denier conspiracy. So, they continued with the fight against western imperialism.
It didn't take long for the six friends to pack up a bullhorn and posters they'd planned to use for their "scream-in," an outlet for their frustration about the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks earlier this month to curb the pollution blamed for climate change.

Still, they chatted with a few passers-by during the commuter-hour protest near the Gateway, and explained that, blizzard aside, climate change is expected to bring chaos to the global climate, said Major.

She called Wednesday evening's effort a success and possibly the first in a series. As for the snow, it's not entirely new; a protest she attended last year in Washington, D.C., suffered a similar fate. Source.

Apparently, this girl doesn’t learn and thinks that failure is a success. (I wonder, how long she has been going to school? What were the hardest four years in the life of a University of Utah student? ...answer: Third grade.) Facts, even those facts that are blowing right in your face have no bearing on the issue. It’s all about what she feels, which is why an aborted protest due to cold weather is a “success”. The science is settled, case closed, that blizzard did not exist and if it did it was caused by global warming. (What does a University of Utah graduate say when they meet you for the first time? … answer: “Would you like fries with that order?”)

Meanwhile, in a related story, a study found that the fraction of atmospheric “carbon dioxide has not increased either during the past 150 years or during the most recent five decades.” Oops, did we say CO2 was causing global warming? Of course, the oceans can’t keep absorbing it for much longer, so global warming will start anytime now! Sources: Science Daily citing research published in Geophysical Research Letters

P.S. Let me take this opportunity to apologize those University of Utah alumni who actually know how think rationally, both of them (Sorry, I can't help myself. This is too much fun.). Actually, the University of Utah is a very good school, my father went there until he realized it was a waste of time and decided to do something useful. (Sorry again.) The artificial heart was developed at the U of U, you can read about it at the University of Utah Library in one of their two science books, if they haven't been colored in yet. (Once again, I'm sorry. As I said, I can't help myself.)

P.S.P.S. For any University of Utah alumni visiting this site, the previous postscript was not intended as hate speech and does not constitute a hate crime under any UN Convention. A Western Heart does not vouch for the accuracy of the comments made in the previous postscript as we believe that none of the science books have been colored in, since they have never been checked out. Please direct your angry comments to Clea Major at the University of Utah.

  1. This is exactly why the term 'Global Warming' should never have been coined, it is 'Climate Change' - or the more appropriate 'Global Climate Volatility'. Hotter or colder - it is irrelevant. It is the extremes of weather that are going to become more common in the future, e.g. more severe blizzards, hotter days, hurricanes, floods, etc., and these events will not be consistent with the seasons.

The climate is a very complex system - far more complex than a one dimensional assessment of 'Warm' and 'Cold'.

Hence, it's unfortunate that 'Global Warming' is still used, because simply by using the term, it creates confusion - as illustrated in this article.

  2. Global warming is the heating of the earths core. Climate change are the effects in air pressure and other atmospheric changes caused by a rising core temperature.
Whether you believe it or not, world governments are taking notice and laws will change. And when this paradigm shift happens it won't matter if you believe it or not, resist it or not, laws will be made and people will have to change.

  3. You've been to the earth's core anon, when? Too much CO2 down there is it? They only drive Humvees down there right?

'Global Warming' is what you crazy warmists first used, now that your bullshit has been blown out of the water, you want to weasel across to change and volatility. Sorry dear, we won't let you slither across that easily. It's warming and you scumbags have to wear that.

"It is the extremes of weather that are going to become more common in the future..."

What a crock of shit, proof dear, that's what you need, proof that it will, and when and you also need to show that it's directly related to man. Otherwise you're just blowing hot/cold air out your ass.
