ABC News - The lawyers for the Bali bombers plan to lodge a constitutional court challenge against the way their clients are to be executed. The Muslim lawyers team which defends Amrozi bin Nuryhasim, Ali Ghufron and Iman Samudra say it will lodge a constitutional court challenge tomorrow arguing that the imminent executions of its clients by firing squad amount to torture. [snip] Lawyer Mahendra Data said that because their clients may be shot twice before they are dead, there is a potential for them to experience pain.
I hope there is a lot of pain and it's not quick, they should have thought about this when they were busy putting together bombs to blow innocent people to pieces. They showed their victims no mercy, they didn't care if it was just women and children who were killed, they didn't care about their family members, their dreams, their hopes, they didn't care about the pain and suffering they would inflict upon innocent people. I say shoot em' in the legs and work yer way up to the head, then bury them a few days later amongst pig excrement. Let it also be remembered that these cowardly curs were demanding to be executed from the very beginning, it's funny how they keep appealing, weaseling and shuffling around trying to avoid exactly what they were demanding. Moving on, Texas does the right thing, again.
FOX News - A Mexican-born condemned prisoner was executed Tuesday night for the rape and murder of two teenage girls 15 years ago after a divided U.S. Supreme Court rejected his request for a reprieve. [snip] Medellin, 33, was condemned for participating in the 1993 gang rape, beating and strangling of Elizabeth Pena, 16, and Jennifer Ertman, 14. He and five fellow gang members attacked the Houston girls as they were walking home on a June night, raped and tortured them for an hour, then kicked and stomped them before using a belt and shoelaces to strangle them. Their remains were found four days later. By then, Medellin already had bragged to friends about the killings.
This was the case where anti-death penalty advocates tried to save this scumbag by going to the International Court of Justice and angling at protections in some treaty signed far away in Europe and long ago. Protections that neither he nor his fellow gang bangers gave to their victims, even President Bush tried to weasel in there to spare him, shame on them all. Good on the Supreme Court for telling the lot of them to go and jump. One less sack of filth on this planet bringing pain and suffering and more importantly
around 70 lives will be saved, thanks to Texas. Speaking of Europe, the EU is meddling in the affairs of Britain again and not surprisingly, not to their [Britain's] benefit.
Daily Express - Britain is to delay the extradition of radical Muslim preacher Abu Hamza to the US to face charges that he helped set up an al Qaida terror training camp. [snip] America accuses Abu Hamza, whose real name is Mustafa Kamal Mustafa, of conspiring to establish a training camp in Bly, Oregon, where followers received combat and weapons training for jihad, or holy war, in Afghanistan. They also say he helped the extremists who kidnapped 16 foreign tourists in Yemen in 1998. Three British tourists and one Australian visitor were killed in a shoot-out between Yemeni security forces and the captors. Hamza is also accused of facilitating terrorist training in Afghanistan. In June, the High Court ruled that he should be sent to the US to face the charges and the House of Lords upheld the ruling. That prompted Abu Hamza to file an appeal with Europe's highest human rights court complaining that if extradited, he could be exposed to torture or inhumane treatment in the US. The Strasbourg court said that it had asked Britain not to extradite Abu Hamza until it had given "due consideration to the matter".
The Brits even got
agreement from the U.S. that they wouldn't execute the fellow or outsource him to Egypt to get him kicked in the balls, heck they probably even got assurance from Sam that Hamza wouldn't be sent to that horrendous Gitmo where some
infidel hottie might touch his thigh or even worse, flash some thigh! I'm sure most British folk would be happy to be rid of this slimeball, it would probably cost them a lot less in paying benefits to this vermin, but none of this is good enough for the EU, so you Brits will just have to sit tight and they'll let you know how high you need to jump if you want to be rid of this vermin. Speaking of vermin, you folks in America ought to take note of how this "free" healthcare wiffle-waffle, that B. Hussein Obambi and Co. are yearning to foist upon you lot, is working out elsewhere.
Daily Mail - Filthy NHS wards are being plagued by pests - with maggots found in slippers and rats in maternity units, it was revealed last night. Hospitals are so dirty that pest controllers were called out to 20,000 infestations in the past two years. Experts warned that the appalling levels of hygiene added to the danger to patients from the deadly superbugs MRSA and C.diff, which multiply in the same environments as pests. Official figures obtained by the Tories show that 80 per cent of NHS trusts reported problems with ants, 66 per cent with rats and 77 per cent with mice. Cockroaches were reported at 59 per cent of trusts, biting insects or fleas at 65 per cent, and bed bugs at 24 per cent. There were infestations of maggots at a further 6 per cent of trusts. And many of the pests were in clinical areas.
See, even in a first world country no matter what the politicians promise and wax lyrical about, you only get what you pay for. It's something that we humans have been grappling with for centuries. The Greek philosopher Aristotle from way, way back, I'm talking B.C. folks - "
That which is common to the greatest number has the least care bestowed upon it."
