What is it With Lefties and Dictatorships?

Venezuela's Chavez granted approval to rule by decree

Venezuelan legislators have voted unanimously to grant leftist President Hugo Chavez initial approval to rule by decree for 18 months. The move comes a week after he began a second six-year term, vowing to seek to become president for life.
They just seem to love the idea, don’t they (given how readily they seem to embrace the notion – well, so long as the right person is doing the dictating, of course)?

'Oh, no we don’t,' they shriek in reply. 'Not here in the West! We hate dictatorship!'

Here, we’re just ever-so-slightly fond of the idea of a natural party of government.
