Those that choose to follow him should answer this question."

I can answer that. He teaches self authority - the authority of the individual. Peterson encourages individuals to be their own person and to be their own best. He is against political correctness, he is against leftism, he is against oppressive leftists and feminists forever telling everyone else what they are allowed to think and say and which words they are allowed to use. Peterson is for individual freedom of thought, freedom of intellect, freedom of speech, freedom of passion and pursuit, while at the same time encouraging and teaching individuals how to govern themselves, how to make intelligence stronger than emotion, how to make better judgement stronger than desire. Peterson is for strengthening individuals, helping individuals be captains of themselves, helping them be the rightful masters of their own minds and lives. That is why the left hates Peterson, for the left hate truth and love power and control over others. The left hate strong free individuality.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487055.post-46146131102405105392018-06-23T15:41:36.945+10:002018-06-23T15:41:36.945+10:00Nirmal Dass's article reads as envious of Pete...Nirmal Dass's article reads as envious of Peterson. He does not seem to understand Peterson.

The yin-yang represent complementary opposites, the circular dynamic between them, and that an essence of each exist in the other. They exist macrocosmically and microcosmically, they are in, throughout and overall everything. And yes, male and female are part of that order. Peterson is not wrong about that.

Symbolism includes static symbols as shapes and forms, dynamic symbols as ceremony & ritual, conceptual stories as analogy, parable, even mythology and words, and anything else. Understanding symbols is not so much about interpreting them individually (that is superficial) but about understanding their categories and the layers of depth of perception that they enable. Symbols are of four kinds, from most easily understood to the most abstract and mind stretching. Their order of progression is roughly as follows: 1.Assigned symbols like a,b,c, mathematical symbols and other symbols that we assign meanings to. 2.Intellectual symbols that indicate a meaning of their own without that meaning being assigned to them, such as an arrow, of which an intellect can see the converging lines and by extension see the direction indicated. 3.Representative symbols, that are representations in lesser dimensions of greater dimensional realities, such as the circle being a two dimensional representation of a three dimensional sphere. 4.Imprinted or actual symbols, which are imprints or penetrations into lesser dimensions of greater multidimensional realities. To a little ground dwelling shortsighted insect that cannot perceive beyond its feet and feelers, a human footprint and the sole that makes it would be an imprinted and actual symbol of a man. If everything in the world of nature and man is a representative and/or imprinted symbol, that is, a lesser copy and small part of a greater multidimensional reality, then the study of symbols firstly in the order of their categories and then of individual symbols will expand the mind and open perception to greater realities, and conversely will funnel down normally unfathomable realities into retainable mental form. Peterson gets that. Nirmal does not. It is an exercise that one has to personally pursue and experience.

Great abstract realities - living ideas and concepts - often have several imprinted manifests, hence their repetition in similar but differing form. Peterson gets that too.

Peterson understands that if one is to see and know truth, then noticing should come before thinking. Pure observance is a powerful thing that few can do. Most people cover reality with their own superimpositions. Their presumptions, thoughts and feelings occlude their vision as cataracts over their mind's eye. They cannot see things as they are. They cannot see reality because their thinking precedes their observation and thus prevents pure observation. Exercising pure observation first, enables thinking to be in accordance with reality, instead of in place of reality as it is with most people.

Peterson understands that within each of us exists the battle between desire and better judgement from which all other battles stem.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
