Bad news for B. Hussein and the haters

BBC - The US military is handing Anbar province, once the centre of Iraq's Sunni insurgency, to Iraqi control at a ceremony in the provincial capital. ...... With Anbar's transfer Iraqi forces will control security in 11 of the country's 18 provinces. ...... A top US commander in Iraq, Marine Maj Gen John Kelly, told the Associated Press that US troop levels in Anbar would come down, but there would not be an instant or dramatic reduction. ...... The US military currently has 28,000 soldiers in Anbar, down from 37,000 in February, according to US figures, while the number of Iraqi soldiers and police has reportedly risen to 37,000, from 5,000 three years ago. "Our forces are ready to take the security responsibility," Majid al-Assafi, Anbar's new police chief, told AFP news agency. "They are controlling the situation."

BBC - The streets of Baghdad are back in business. The teashops are busy. The shops and markets are bustling. After years when there seemed to be no end to the city's trauma, people are feeling more confident. Why, even property prices in Baghdad are rising. According to one estate agent we spoke to, they have doubled in the past four months. Yes, things are better in Baghdad. ...... Much of the credit for the improvements is undoubtedly due to the increase in US forces which began in the early months of 2007. American troops came onto the streets in greater numbers and confronted the insurgents and militia groups. ...... The US commander in Iraq, Gen David Petraeus, adopted a new approach. It is instructive to read the "Commander's Counterinsurgency Guidance" which was issued recently to all US forces in Iraq.

Soon, Americas sons and daughters will come home, in victory rather than the defeat and humiliation leftists, dictators, tyrants, terrorists and assorted dirtbags the world over yearned for. Nobody tell B. Hussein alright, might stuff up his bounce after his anointment, even more after McCain-Palin shot the tripe out of it. While I'm on the subject of hate, there seems to be a bounce in the usual amount of hate and callousness from the left.

BMI [Hat tip Chuck Thinks Right] - Moore has made a recent career out of attacking President George W. Bush, bashing conservatives and criticizing business. His latest outrage occurred on MSNBC’s August 29 “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and when he commented about the coincidental timing of an unfortunate disaster – the potential for Hurricane Gustav to make landfall at the beginning of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. “I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,” Moore said, laughing. “To have it planned at the same time – that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities – at the top of the Mississippi River.”

ABC News [Thanks again Chuck] - Former DNC Chairman Don Fowler apologized on Sunday for joking in a private conversation that the timing of Hurricane Gustav demonstrates that God is on the side of the Democrats. "If this offended anybody, I personally apologize," Fowler told ABC News. "It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don't believe." "One doesn't anticipate that one's private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase," said Fowler. "But that's the nature of what we're dealing with."

Wizbang [Hat tip Always on Watch] - Alan Colmes of Hannity and Colmes wrote a post so inappropriate and offensive the Kos Kiddies would be envious. He accused Governor Palin of not taking enough care of Trig when he was an unborn baby. A man who has no problem with a woman killing her unborn baby through an abortion actually has the nerve to ask if Governor Palin took too great a risk with her pregnancy.

Charming lot aren't they, I thought Sicko was about the wonders of the Cuban healthcare system and the joys of Communism, I didn't know Sicko was a crockumentary about Michael Moore himself. Well then, it's a good thing I didn't waste any of my 12 free weeklies video store coupons on Sicko isn't it. However the dirtbag award has go to DNC Chairman Don Fowler, not only is he huffing and puffing because he got caught, he's trying to say that expressing death and destruction upon his fellow citizens, the people he supposedly cares for so much, is alright if it's in private. I for one am glad there was a right-wing nutcase behind him and for bloggers like the above who expose these vermin. Thanks to them, we see behind that working families, change we can believe in and we care so much for the poor and the blacks of New Orleans facade is the true nature of what we're dealing with.
