Freedom of speech? Perhaps not for much longer...

"Worldwide suppression of free speech - is it possible? On the first of this month (October) in Great Britain, an upgrade to existing ‘hate crime’ legislation came into effect by which a British blogger can be imprisoned for seven years and slapped with an unlimited fine for criticizing any religion, which of course means Islam."
The Midnight Sun

Anybody who thinks this legislation won't be used against bloggers, or that it will remain confined to Britain has rocks in his head.

If politicians there can get away with this does anyone seriously believe that they won't try the same in the U.S. or Australia? And you can forget about relying on the courts to give a commonsense ruling in cases that come before them, because leftist activist judges are more interested in pushing their own agenda than they are in justice. This legislation is merely another tool for them.
The claim--of course--will be that these laws are designed to apply to ALL "hate speech". But we know now that it's a lie, when muslims can carry placards calling for infidels to be beheaded and bombed as the police stand by and do nothing, yet Christian pastors find themselves before the court (Victoria, Australia) for merely quoting from the koran.
What constitutes hate speech will be at the discretion of sleek grey bureaucrats, those same bureaucrats who will happily see a culture destroyed in the name of tolerance and diversity even as they pull down huge salaries courtesy of the very people they have betrayed.
We all know that the countless islamist sites spewing their hatred won't be affected by this, they simply put up a post or a video clip and then move elsewhere, before the authorities can act. (assuming they intend to act in the first place, something I doubt) Therefore the target, as always, is the easy one. Which is us.
