Good Lord

Just saw this on the evening news headlines, looks like the whole place is going to turn explosive, thankfully nothing out of that Ahmadinjihad fellow yet. Heaven help them if he gets his hands on a nuke.
Seventeen days after IDF soldier Gilad Shalit was kidnapped in Gaza, a second front was opened on Israel's northern border Wednesday morning as Hizbullah, under cover of a barrage of Katyusha rockets and mortar shells, kidnapped two more army troops.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared the attack as an "act of war" and not terror.

"These are difficult days for the State of Israel and its citizens," Olmert said.

"There are elements in the north and in the south who are threatening our stability and are trying to test our steadfastness. They will fail, and pay a heavy price for their actions."

A senior IDF officer said the military was preparing for a large operation against Lebanon, and that communities along the northern border had been instructed to prepare accordingly.

Earlier, Israel rejected a cease-fire request made by the Lebanese government via the UN after IDF troops entered its territory to rescue two soldiers captured by Hizbullah earlier Wednesday.

A very high ranking military officer said that if the soldiers were not returned in good condition, Israel would turn Lebanon back 20 years by striking its vital infrastructure.
I hope Olmert has a spine of tempered steel, any sign of restraint will be percieved as a weakness by this enemy, forget about disengagement and handing over territory unless offcourse you want more of this.

Already some world governments are whining for peace and restraint, its the usual suspects, but I am glad to see some are taking a stronger stand on this, though I'm not expecting them to talk this tough in a few weeks time.
