News that shocked the nation

I can just hear the noisy Howard haters, "the lying rodent..", the cartoonists sharpening their pencils, communists and eco-terrorists dusting off their placards.
Prime Minister John Howard today became the first Australian leader since 1984 to be asked to tender a statement to a judicial inquiry.

Mr Howard announced at a press conference at 9.30am that he had been asked to provide a written statement to the Cole inquiry, which is investigating AWB kickbacks to Iraq.
blah, blah..
"I've said all along that this is an utterly transparent process, which is not protecting the Government, which is designed to get to the truth.."
blah, blah..
.
.
ZZZZ..
.
.
Does anybody, apart from the Canberra press gallery, actually care?
