Time For an Overhaul

So after 12 years of Liberal rule in which they persistently defended Canada's wonderful refugee system what is the legacy?
  • In 2003, federal Auditor General Sheila Fraser reported Canada had lost track of 36,000 failed refugee claimants.
  • In the same year, Liberal Sen. Colin Kenny, chair of the Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, warned that half of all undocumented refugee claimants never even showed up for their hearings. For this and other glaring security lapses, he dubbed Canada "a terrorist's dream."
  • In 1998, the Canadian and Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) warned that over 50 organizations and 350 individuals with links to terrorism were operating in Canada, mostly to raise funds for terrorist activities abroad. At least for now.
According to the Fraser Institute, Canada is "a prime destination for terrorists." The report's author Martin Collacott said that terrorists routinely file refugee claims "as a means of rendering their removal from the country more difficult."
