Martin to Outlaw "Falling Down"

During a campaign stop in Toronto today Prime Minister Paul Martin declared that if re-elected he will enact legislation making it illegal to fall down. According to StatsCan there were about 50,000 deaths in Canada due to accidental falls from 1979 to 2002. Said Martin,
"This is completely unacceptable. Clearly Canadians need the protection of the federal government in protecting them from accidental falls. Both the Conservatives and NDP refuse to acknowledge the seriousness of this situation."

"If re-elected I promise to introduce legislation banning the act of falling down. It is obvious that Canadians do not possess the ability to protect themselves from this very real and dangerous threat."
When pressed for details on his proposal Martin threatened to ban stupid questions.
