More Bad Lies for ‘Bad New(s) Iraq’

Prior to the war, the leftist media was giving us horror stories like this:
Voices in the Wilderness calls for urgent action: end the economic sanctions against Iraq. Malnutrition is a key underlying cause of child mortality in Iraq. The UNICEF-supported Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2000 has shown that 30% of children under-five suffer from chronic malnutrition. Voices members have photos and slides taken on the December trip documenting children in hospitals and elementary schools. Accompanying us in Iraq was an internationally published photographer who sent material to Newsweek.
Now, of course, the story has cropped up - again.

Children 'starving' in new Iraq

Increasing numbers of children in Iraq do not have enough food to eat and more than a quarter are chronically undernourished, a UN report says. Malnutrition rates in children under five have almost doubled since the US-led invasion - to nearly 8% by the end of last year, it says.

So – it was 30% before the war. Now, apparently, after the war it has doubled - to nearly 8%. . .

Do these people have even the vaguest concept of numbers? Do they even try to get their stories straight? The fact that, if one could believe a single word these people say, this result would represent a terrific improvement is a given. But silly me – this is all about propaganda. All about more ‘Bad New(s) Iraq’. More ‘evil America’. Who cares about truth. Problem is, they’re being so blinded by their own vicious polemic they can’t seem to remember what they've said from one week to the next.
Jean Ziegler, a UN specialist on hunger who prepared the report, blamed the worsening situation in Iraq on the war led by coalition forces.
Of course it is, Jean, you disingenuous swine. And if you weren’t being so desperately serious, I’d consider this statement some kind of pathetic joke.

You know, just once I’d like to hear these liars and fools actually place the blame for what has gone in Iraq precisely where it belongs (instead of relentlessly pedalling such poor lies). And that’s at the feet of the truly evil regime the coalition helped to remove, and the corrupt, fellow-travelling vermin that fought to stop us doing it, while working so tirelessly to keep him there for so long.

And that’d be people like you, Jean.
